In this talk, Kate Leto talks about the stories that we tell ourselves in our daily work routines. She’s been a Product Coach for years, and she noticed some recurrent patterns when clients come to her with stake-holders issues. She explains how changing our perspective on those stories can actually help to fix these issues.

The main key learnings

  • Understanding personal stories and their impact: Personal narratives not only influence our daily behavior but also affect team dynamics and organizational performance. Recognizing and understanding these narratives can improve collaboration and efficiency within teams.

  • Identifying roles in the drama triangle: Individuals often play the roles of hero, victim, or villain in their stories. Understanding these roles helps to recognize behaviors that hinder personal and professional growth, and transform them to foster a healthier work environment.

  • Shifting from survival mode to creation mode: It's possible to rewrite one's narratives to move from defensive roles to proactive roles. Using tools like the "empowerment triangle" helps develop a more constructive and open approach, promoting innovation and personal and collective resilience.
